What we do

Creative Haverhill, Inc. is a 501©3 non-profit organization that has provided residents of greater haverhill with arts and cultural experiences since 2009.

Our Mission

To support Haverhill arts and culture, providing experiences and access at the intersection of art, culture, and community and to develop high-quality spaces as platforms for community and cultural expression.

Creative Haverhill currently manages three major programs that work to provide accessible arts experiences to all ages and abilities of the Greater Haverhill community. These programs include the Annual Juried Youth Art Show during the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce’s KidsFest event, the Let’s Make Art at the Haverhill Farmer’s Market, and the River Bards Poetry Series at HC Media. All of these programs are free and offered in various locations in Downtown Haverhill to make them accessible and open to all.

Creative Haverhill also collaborates on satellite programming with other organizations and developed a weekly art class at the Marigold Montessori School here in Haverhill for kids ages 3-6 years old. (Student Art Show Here) While this program is not currently being offered at this time, Creative Haverhill has a fully developed art curriculum for this age group and hopes to continue to run programming like this as our organization grows.

As a long-term arts and culture organization in Haverhill, Creative Haverhill seeks to be a part of larger initiatives to ensure the Greater Haverhill community has access to arts and cultural experiences, and that the arts are utilized as a direct conduit for economic development in Haverhill. To accomplish this, Creative Haverhill collaborates with numerous organizations and sits on many committees to ensure “the arts” have a seat at the table. Creative Haverhill is currently on the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Non-profit Committee, is a member of Haverhill.biz and on the planning committee for their Creative Industry Nights, is on the Transformative Development Initiative committee, is on the KidsFest and Christmas Stroll planning committees. We are continuously seeking opportunities to develop more relationships and projects and to collaborate with other great organizations in Greater Haverhill.

Operating until now without a brick and mortar location, Creative Haverhill, also seeks to develop high quality spaces for community and cultural expression through the establishment of a multi-purpose cultural arts center, Cogswell ArtSpace. The center will broaden our city's exposure to the arts, engage new audiences, support and showcase the city's cultural assets, and create new programming to meet the needs of an even greater portion of Haverhill's residents and surrounding communities.
