Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels are invited to submit work for When Worlds Collide, a community exhibition celebrating the moments where imagination, memory, and everyday life intersect.
This open call welcomes artists who see the world a little differently—those who transform ordinary moments into unexpected experiences, uncover hidden stories, or explore the space between what is real and what is imagined.
Artists working in collage, mixed media, sculpture, are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in work that embraces experimentation, playful ideas, unusual perspectives, and personal storytelling.
We welcome submissions from emerging, self-taught, and established artists. If your work explores the meeting point between reality and imagination, and invites viewers to wonder, question, or look closer, we encourage you to apply.
EXHIBITION STATEMENT
When Worlds Collide captures the tension and harmony found when imagination intersects with reality. Through mixed media, painting, and drawing, Jordan Hancock transforms ordinary experiences into moments of humor, illusion, and reflection. His work challenges perception — reframing the familiar and revealing unexpected connections within everyday life. Each piece invites the viewer to see beyond assumption and step into a world where the strange feels familiar and the familiar feels newly strange. At its core, When Worlds Collide is a celebration of curiosity — a visual journey into how we interpret meaning, and how imagination shapes the way we see. When Worlds Collide is a celebration of creativity, imagination, and the unique ways we each experience the world around us. This exhibition creates a space for artists to share work that challenges expectations, reveals new possibilities, and reminds us that the familiar can become extraordinary.
A note from jordan
When Worlds Collide is a showcase of my creative journey — a collision of mixed media, painting, and drawing that captures the humor, complexity, and curiosity of everyday life. Over the years, I’ve explored how art can turn ordinary moments into something unexpected, sometimes strange, but always meaningful. My work lives in that space where imagination meets reality. I’m drawn to eccentric details, visual jokes, and subtle illusions that invite you to look twice — to question what’s real and what’s not. By reframing the familiar, I want to remind us that meaning often comes from the way we see, not just what we see. Art, to me, is shared entertainment — an experience that connects us through curiosity and celebration. When Worlds Collide is my invitation for you to explore, reflect, and take a piece of that journey home.
