Creative Haverhill @ 43 Washington St

Cogswell ArtSpace Incubator

We’re excited to announce our new space in downtown Haverhill—a vibrant, flexible location where we’ll begin expanding our community arts programming. This space will host exhibitions, classes, workshops, and community events, all designed to increase access to creative resources for everyone. It also serves as a meaningful stepping stone on our journey toward the future Cogswell ArtSpace.

Our move into 43 Washington Street has been made possible thanks to a Partnership Grant from the Essex County Community Foundation’s Creative County Initiative. With support from the City of Haverhill and Causeway Development, Creative Haverhill will activate and program the space for at least the next two years, bringing more art, connection, and creativity to downtown.

  • Gallery Space

This gallery space will feature rotating exhibitions that highlight the talent and creativity of local artists, and will uplift emerging voices, youth artists, and community-driven work. Through solo and group shows, pop-up exhibitions, and partnerships with local organizations, the space will offer a vibrant and inclusive platform for artistic expression, collaboration, and connection.

  • Education Space

The education space will host workshops and classes that connect directly with the work on display in the gallery, while also inviting local artist-educators to share their skills through a variety of creative offerings. As part of our programming, we plan to collaborate with nearby shops and restaurants to create a well-rounded downtown Haverhill experience that supports local businesses and fosters community connection through the arts.

  • Community Space

The community space is designed to serve as a welcoming hub for connection, creativity, and collaboration. We hope individuals, groups, and organizations will utilize it as a meeting point—for gatherings, rentals, events, workshops, and programs that bring people together and strengthen our creative community.
